Stockist News October 24

Scoot Boot’s Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Annette Kaitinis has hit the road again, this time to promote the benefits of Scoot Boots to farriers and barefoot trimmers. The first stop was the Hoof Boot Summit in Düsseldorf, Germany where Annette showcased to industry professionals, farriers and barefoot trimmers why adding Scoot Boots to their tool kit is essential to the health and wellbeing of horses. She fostered connections between farriers and trimmers with established Scoot Boot Stockists.

Annette had the opportunity to meet with many of our wonderful Stockists assisting horses transitioning to barefoot using Scoot Boots, such as German Stockist Katja Doering and Swiss Stockist Melanie Engler. In 2006, Katja's passion for horses and formal training in orthopaedics laid the foundation for her future career. Since 2011, she has run her own business offering specialised hoof care, including promoting barefoot with the aid of Scoot Boots. Melanie, a former chemistry lab technician, shifted her focus to hoof care and now runs Bits'N'Boots, supplying hoof boots and supporting the barefoot movement. She also serves as president of the Swiss Hoof Care Association SHV.

From Germany, Annette travelled to the BFBA Focus Tradeshow in Kenilworth, England. Scoot Boot Stockists Rachael Watkin (The Hoof Boot Shop) and Katie Kirkpatrick (Telos Hoofcare) both attended the event with their own booths.  Their focus was showcasing hoof boot options to UK farriers.

Rachael has worked tirelessly in forging connections with farriers and barefoot trimmers to bridge the gap between traditional farriery and innovative hoof care in hoof boots, in particular Scoot Boots. She has hosted many training days for industry experts.

A big congratulations to Rachael for winning the Best Stand prize for the entire Trade Show.

Katie’s drive for horse welfare is evident in her attendance at England's largest farrier event after being a Scoot Boot Stockist for less than one year. Her passion and dedication is inspiring.

New Zealand Stockist David Hankin was visiting the event. David has been a long-term Stockist and owner of P3 Farrier Suppler; David has long seen the importance of all hoof care options for the farrier and end-user market.

We are proud of our Stockists worldwide who are forging connections with the new generation of farriers who are open to including hoof boots and, in particular, Scoot Boots to their services. Please let us know how you are connecting with other industry experts. Together we can reshape welfare for horses from the hooves up!

Nordic Hoof Summit

Scoot Boots had a strong presence at the Nordic Hoof Summit in Flyinge, Sweden. Stockist Jennie Molliner and her team from Scoot Boot Scandinavia promoted the benefits of barefoot trimming to the farrier market. Although attendance was lower than expected, particularly among Swedish farriers, the event was still valuable. Jennie and her team engaged with many industry professionals, including teachers from the Farrier School and the founder of the Hoof Summit.

Conversations centred on how farriers could better serve barefoot clients. Many farriers desired more education, enabling them to manage barefoot horses independently without constantly referring them to trimmers. This was a positive confirmation of the growing interest in barefoot practices within the farrier community.

The summit was incredibly well-received by the barefoot-minded students from the Farrier school, who were open and eager to learn. Scoot Boot sponsored the "Best Farrier Car" competition, with the top prize being a Scoot Boot sizing kit and hoof products from EQUNIQUE. The winner, Emil, a 25-year-old farrier from Löberöds Horse Clinic (owned by Peder Fredricson's veterinarian, Staffan Lidbeck), was thrilled with his prize.

Despite the challenges, the event helped to build stronger relationships and a deeper connection with those interested in barefoot education. Jennie's efforts to promote Scoot Boots and the barefoot movement in Sweden continue to pave the way for the future of horse welfare.
