Scootboot Team Huddle: Testing MultiPurpose Gaiters
At Scootboot, we’re always looking for ways to better support our Stockists and customers.
Recently, our CX Team gathered at our Co Founder Annette’s property for a hands-on team huddle spending time with Clippy and working directly with our MultiPurpose Gaiters.
During our session we focused on our MultiPurpose Gaiters, testing them, discussing common customer questions, and sharing insights on how we can better support Stockists and riders when it comes to fit, comfort, and performance.
Key takeaways from our gathering:
Mobility friendly. MultiPurpose Gaiters improve the ability for many riders with mobility and strength issues in their fingers to easily put on and take off Scootboots. - Watch our behind the scenes
For our German speaking Stockists, Jenny from our sizing Team is a native German.
Snugging up the fit. MultiPurpose Gaiters assist horses across the world with in-between Scoot sizes. The sizing team has successfully reduced exchanges for smaller sizes by recommending them.
Sessions like these allow us to test products, share knowledge, and discuss real questions that riders and Stockists are asking around the world.

Scootboot Young Rider Award – Entries Open!
We care about sharing the benefits of barefoot to the next generation of riders.
This is why we launched the Scootboot Young Rider Award (ages 12–21).
This award recognises young riders who:
Put their horses first
Show kindness and dedication
Represent thoughtful, positive horsemanship
Entries are open until 12 March 2026, and we’re already seeing fantastic interest across regions.
For riders aged 16–21 we have a Community Page on Facebook. Already with more than 400 members, the page is a safe place where young riders can share their riding journey and their knowledge.
So if you have admirable young riders as customers, be sure to encourage them to join the page and to enter the competition. Together, we’re supporting the future of our equestrian community.

Sensitive Toes in Horses - Why Toe Pressure Matters
Let’s share the benefits of the open toe design across the entire Scootboot range. Yes the open toe makes it easier to put the boots on, but the major benefit is to the horse by reducing toe pressure.
A long or pressured toe acts as a lever in front of the hoof’s centre of rotation.
The design of the toe of the Scootboot, with its vertical and horizontal openings, removes pressure from sensitive toes to provide comfort for the horse.
Excess strain can:
Contribute to tendon injury
Increase pressure on the navicular bone and bursa
Accelerate coffin joint stress and arthritis
Chronic toe leverage is strongly associated with long toe low heel syndrome, navicular type pain, and degenerative joint changes.
Reducing unnecessary toe pressure protects these internal structures and supports long term soundness.

EquiSchoen Netherlands
By Marjanka Lever
When people ask me how EquiSchoen began, I always smile because the truth is, it didn’t start with boots.
It started with barefoot.
My journey began with a deep belief in natural hoof care. First barefoot, then trimming, then advising customers who needed support during transitions. Hoof boots were never the starting point, they were the solution that helped horses stay comfortable while their hooves strengthened.
When we bought EquiSchoen, Scootboots were already part of the shop I believe from the very beginning of Scootboot itself. And over the years, they have become an important part of our company.
Since Summer 2024, I’ve also become a Final Assessor for Liberated Horsemanship USA in Europe, which has strengthened my commitment even more to education, standards, and correct hoof care.
That foundation is everything to me.
Today, EquiSchoen has grown from a small part-time business into 2.5 full-time.
Sometimes that means less time to ride for us, but it also means we are supporting more horses than ever before and that makes me proud.
Hoof Care First. Boots That Support the Journey.
In the Netherlands, most of our customers are:
Transitioning to barefoot
Managing high or underrun heels
Supporting laminitic or therapeutic cases
Competing in dressage, jumping, endurance
Driving in carriage and marathon teams (even four-in-hand!)
Using boots for cross country or groundwork
Or simply providing 24/7 turnout comfort
Scootboot Classic is our number one recommendation.
For horses with underrun or high heels, we often recommend the Adjust or TheraRide. For thin soles or laminitic horses, TheraRide is frequently the right choice.
What matters to me is that the boot supports the hoof not forces it into something rigid. The hoof must be allowed to function and develop correctly.
That philosophy guides everything we do.
Our Fitting Network
We operate fully online, but that does not mean impersonal.
We work with around 30 fitters who customers can contact directly via our webshop.
We provide:
Online fitting advice
Fitting shells and test boots
A deposit-based trial system
Direct support throughout the process
Advice is currently free although I will admit it is very time consuming!
We are considering charging a small fee because quality fitting takes real time and attention.
Over the last three years, we have collected almost 2,000 reviews.
And the feedback?
Customers are always happy about the boots.
That is what keeps us going.
Our Own Horses
People often ask if we use Scootboots ourselves.
To be honest, our horses don’t need them.
Anique is a professional certified hoof care provider and preparing for her Field Instructor exams. I am now also a Final Assessor. Between us, our five horses have strong, well-managed hooves.
But that’s exactly the point.
Because we understand hoof health deeply, we know when a boot is needed and when it is not. Scootboots are a tool. A very good tool. But always in service of soundness.
Values That Matter
Scootboot speaks about comfort, freedom and keeping horses sound.
For me?
To the max!!!!
That is exactly why they fit our philosophy.
Barefoot, Education and Community came first. Boots simply support that mission.
Our Community
We invest heavily in our own events.
In February 2026 we hosted our BijSpijkerDag, which is completely funded by ourselves and invited our fitters to attend for free. Supporting our network matters more than standing at a trade stand.
We donate.
We sponsor.
We support education.
And most importantly we work together with a fantastic team of fitters who share the same values.
Looking Forward
EquiSchoen has grown steadily, and we are grateful for that growth. Scootboots remain an important part of our offering, especially for the many horses transitioning, rehabilitating, or needing additional comfort.
We are proud of our nearly 2,000 reviews.
Proud of our fitter network.
Proud of our professional standards.
And most of all proud to support horses in staying sound.
That is what matters.

New Shipping Update - Customs & Tax Fields Added
We understand the frustration when shipping and customs delays impede your prompt delivery.
To help reduce delays with international shipments, we’ve added a dedicated field on the shipping page to enter your Customs ID, Tax ID, VAT number, EORI, or other import identification numbers during checkout. This field is blank - you can enter any relevant business details that are applicable to your region.
Providing this information when placing your order helps ensure your shipment moves through customs more smoothly and reduces the risk of delays while carriers wait for additional documentation.
Faster clearance and delivery!
If your country requires an import identification number, we recommend saving this information and entering it each time you place an order.

Important Reminder- Sizing Shells not for the end riders
Sizing shells are not designed, tested, or approved for riding and can cause serious harm if used that way.
They are made from inferior material and don’t have the full design elements - they are purely meant for sizing hooves.
When Sizing Shells are modified or sold as riding boots, several issues can arise:
Shells may break during riding
Customers may request warranty support
Warranty claims will be rejected because the product was used outside its intended purpose
Customers feel misled if they believed they were purchasing a finished Scootboot
Protecting Our Brand and Stockist Network
Selling Sizing Shells as finished Scootboots does not align with Scootboot’s Code of Conduct.
Please update your team and any fitters you may work with.
